A hemispherical blue osk (Quercus douglasii) is flanked by a smaller coast live oak (Q. agrifolia). There is a sharp boundary line between the serpentine grassland, with its serpentine rocks lying about, and the more-fertile soil bordering our road. The Bay lies beyond.
