Sprouting Seed of California Buckeye (Aesculus californica)

Sprouting Seed of California Buckeye (Aesculus californica)

So many fallen seeds, sprouting seeds, young plants, new leaves! Buckeyes abound on lower Trail 9. The camels that once helped spread their seeds have not roamed this land for 10,000 years. Still, the buckeyes persist, thriving in places where they have become established. (And Homo sapiens also helps spread buckeye seeds, nowadays.) 12:09 pm.
