A bioblitz is fun: lots of people, observing all the species in a given location, at a given time.
With my longish lens (300 mm max), I focused on birds. Here are a few: a dancing great egret; a golden-crowned sparrow near the trail, grabbing seeds; a female common yellowthroat (warbler), hidden in the reeds -- all I could see was the shaking of the reeds, until I got lucky; California gulls wheeling and landing. Several others as well.
