We visit Helen's alma mater. In her day, this was the Tintern Church of England Girls' Grammar School. Today they lost all but Tintern and Grammar. There are some boys, gradually phasing in.

Tintern is about to unveil an "Avenue of Excellence", "to formally celebrate and honour the outstanding achievements and contributions of extraordinary Alumni [old girls, old boys] in their field of endeavour." It will be unveiled in a Celebration Dinner on 9 September 2017. Helen is one of the honourees in the initial phase. We were there a little early. Helen spoke to a school assembly. We saw the plaque in her honour that will be placed on the Avenue of Excellence. We dropped in on a physics class in progress, and after some shyness, the students asked about her work, axions, and dark matter. It was a good day. Ixchel and Clio enjoyed seeing the school that Granny had gone to.

Some of these images are by the Tintern official photographer; some (without flash) are mine. All are open source; ask me for a copy if you want.
