A loop hike: Escobar Gate, Road F, Birding Transect Trail (nice serpentine!) -- along the ridge; Trail 3 down toward the riparian area; across San Francisquito Creek; follow Trail 2 back up to Escobar Gate.

There were robins on the ridge -- but nowhere nearly as many as last year. The kestrel was at the same post as on the Christmas Bird Count 12/19. A red-tailed hawk called from an oak tree. Fungus abounds. And of course, I passed my favorite oak trees.

Enjoy!
