Serpentine Rocks in Grassland

Serpentine Rocks in Grassland

Late fall; it has not rained for months. Heavy fog sometimes leaves dewdrops, but they evaporate. Fragrant hayfields tarweed (Hemizonia congesta ssp. luzulifolia) grows here. One of the Woodland ant survey points, WL, on the ridge near Trail 3 and Road F. No ants seen at this spot. 9/17/2016, 9:52 am.
