This red-shouldered hawk (Buteo lineatus) has found a nice perch from which to watch for voles and other prey: a bluebird box. Recently, I think bluebirds were starting another family here. Let me know if you see them, still there!

The hawk took off, flying low over the field. Perhaps it did spot some potential prey.
