Ant Surveyor at Chaparral Margin

Ant Surveyor at Chaparral Margin

The chaparral has the familiar plants: coyote brush, poison oak, California sagebrush (Artemesia californica), and stickey monkeyflower. The coast live oak at the top of the ridge does not look healthy: sudden oak death? Drought?? Skyline lies beyond. Taken on the ridge, off-trail during an ant survey, south of Road F and east of Trail 10. 5/7/2016, 12:15 pm.
