Lower Valley Oak

Lower Valley Oak

The next valley oak (Quercus lobata) along Road F -- also covered in oak mistletoe (Phoradendron serotinum ssp. Tomentosum (P. villosum)). This tree has many more leaves. The next tree along, across Road F at the edge of the chaparral, is the chaparral valley oak. It is covered in leaves, and has no mistletoe. In the distance stands the lonely valley oak, near Trail 15. Different types of chaparral are on the right and on the left of Road F. Poison oak (Toxicodendron diversilobum) is starting to grow up the trunk of the foreground tree.
