Here are photos of four or five species of birds: one catching insects from out of the top of a valley oak, near the serpentine on Trail 15; one flying back and forth over some serpentine rocks -- drab on the outside, but with a touch of red on the wing, visible when flying; and two or three species of swallows, captured in flight. Please help ID these birds.

The neighboring collection shows birds -- including hummingbirds and turkeys, birders, and landscapes seen on the Escobar birding expedition the morning of 5/20/2015. In "Adventures on a Smaller Scale", there are two more collections of images from this morning, focusing on flowers (with insects) and ants (and other insects, and spiders). Enjoy! And please leave a comment with an ID, or just a general comment, on any photo.
