Serpentine Border

Serpentine Border

California poppy (Eschscholzia californica) thrives in the serpentine soil at the left. The green European grasses thrive on the more fertile soil to the right -- along with a few poppies near the border. Road F winds toward Escobar Gate. The radar dish is in the distance, on a green hill, in front of the East Bay hills.
