On our monthly bird transect from Escobar Gate, we saw these hawks in a Valley Oak off Road F near Goya Gate. They both have an anomalous white patch on the top of the head. This was just as the rain let up; they both looked wet and bedraggled. They stayed in place longer than usual, letting me take many photos Unfortunately, at this distance and lighting, the quality of the photos is poor. I hope birders find them useful in any case.
