View of Grassland from Chaparral

View of Grassland from Chaparral

California sagebrush, better known as Artemesia (A. californica), yields suddenly to grassland. The rabbits have cleared the grass out to where they felt comfortable, with hawks about. Coyote brush, the "mother of the chaparral", and other chaparral plants have established themselves in the grassland on the next rise, across Road F. Oaks, especially valley oaks, march the ridgeline. Skyline stretches in the far distance, across the San Andreas Fault, with Windy Hill in the center.
