Subterranean Bubbles

Subterranean Bubbles

Bubbles from below the ground. A steady flow for at least several minutes, quite possibly more. Near "Point 14" for the bird point counts, about 9 m SE along Road F from Trail 9. I could detect no odor. Question: why were these bubbles still coming out, many days after a substantial rainfall and flooding? Helen thinks they may be due to ongoing subterranean decomposition. My only other possible explanation is a large underground pocket of air, slowly being invaded by water and pushing out the bubbles.
