Grinding Holes, Sacred Space

Grinding Holes, Sacred Space

I count five grinding holes (mortars) in this piece of sandstone. I have numbered them, L to R. They are all visible here -- with effort. There are two on the right. #4 is roughly in line with #2 & #3, twice as far from #3 as #3 is from #2. #5 is below it to the right, just beyond the grass, with scat in it. Trail 2, SLAC, and Skyline lie beyond. This is a good place for a ceremony. Hawks, vultures, and mountain lions visit too.
