An ancient cedar lies fallen on granite, surrounded by fog. Captured near Sapphire Lake, Evolution Wilderness, Sierra Nevada Mountains, in August 1996 -- on a hiking trip with Jerry Elkind.br/ br/ This was selected as the best of my images by the Center for Photographic Art in Carmel, in 2016. It was also awarded a grand prize by the Palo Alto Camera Club, one year. I still value it.
