A glimpse into the unique environment and lifestyle of a village set on piles, in Inle Lake. Hundreds of years old; the lake provided sanctuary from roaming brigands and armies. Their chief activity is farming tomatoes, on floating rafts. Fishing. A little tourism. The people are very comfortable on the water; children learn to swim before walking. They have developed a unique way to row a boat: standing up, using one foot/heel, balancing on the other foot. These boats are tippy!
