Moving beyond the Bay, to the World... Some birds are rare or only found in certain locations. Egrets and herons seem to be spread over much of the world. Here are some of my photos from the PA Baylands; Jasper Ridge and Portola Valley Ranch; Latin America and the Galapagos; and Japan.
I include the genus Ardea (great blue herons and great egrets), as well as other genera which we call "herons" or "egrets".
