Dr. Stuart Weiss

Dr. Stuart Weiss

Dr. Stuart Weiss of the Creekside Center for Earth Observation, is a biologist who has done much to preserve & study the serpentine ecosystem and the Bay Checkerspot Butterflies on Coyote Ridge. He has studied them for (20??) years. As an undergraduate at Stanford, he worked with Paul Ehrlich on Bay Checkerspot Butterflies -- before the Coyote Ridge "mother" population was even known. He has been instrumental in discovering, studying, publicizing, and preserving this rare habitat.
