Cormorants are well adapted for diving. Less so for taking off. This is a tradeoff, and they have thrived -- even though they leave many splashes, running along the water before achieving liftoff. Near Coches Prietos. Is this a Brandt's cormorant (Phalacrocorax penicillatus)? Please leave a comment!
