Visitors' Valley Oak (Quercus lobata)

Visitors' Valley Oak (Quercus lobata)

This old survivor, near the visitors' parking lot, has persisted perhaps 200 years -- since before Europeans appeared hereabouts. It lost a major limb some years ago. The tree remains a refuge for Acorn Woodpeckers, swallows, and other birds, as well as squirrels and insects. 1/30/2024, 10:21 am.
