The Elephant Seals are just beginning to arrive for a new birthing- and breeding- season. New bulls are arriving; battles for territory and harems will come soon. There is at least one newborn pup here. A young mother shields herself from an overeager bull, preferring to wait a while before breeding again. A dark peaceful day on the beach.
