Oaks and Chaparral
Two Valley Oaks (Quercus lobata), one bare with mistletoe, on either side of a Coast Live Oak (Q. agrifolia), on top of a small hill. Behind advancing chaparral, taking over the grasslands, dominated by Coyote Brush (Baccharis pilularis), the mother of the forest. From Road F, Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve. 6/22/2021, 8:49 am.
