Hazy Morning Vista
A Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) surveys the scene from the top branch of an old Coast Live Oak (Quercus agrifolia), still putting forth a few leaves, maintaining branches for other life. Perhaps jackrabbits or other prey will venture into the golden grassland? Chaparral and mixed forest fill the foreground. The view melts into hazy trees and up to Skyline, the spine of the Peninsula.
