Rainy season 2021 started emphatically. After a brief shower to moisten the ground, an atmospheric river dumped more water on Jasper Ridge in one long soaking storm than in the entire previous rainy season. This was in October, on the early side for the beginning of the rains. We are not out of the woods yet regarding our historic drought, but this is a good start. These selections begin on October 23, after the first rain and before the big soak.

Searsville Lake is filling up. Corte Madera Creek has regained its flow, inundating spots recently exposed for the first time in years.
