After we arrive in the Valley, we take an evening stroll along the Mirror Lake Trail. The whole palette of autumn colors surrounds us; high above, mists clothe Half Dome and cliffs. Little we knew that this was to be the last day of autumn in the Valley. The first snowfall begins late tonight -- just in time to turn our planned hike up the Mist Trail into a special experience.
