It is near the peak time for the wildflowers in the serpentine grassland, up on the Ridge out of Escobar Gate. And Sunday, 3/31/2019, gave perfect weather. Dew on the closed poppies on the way out; open poppies, and not too much wind, coming back. A walk out soggy Road F and back along twisting Trail 15.

In addition to wildflowers in profusion -- on the serpentine, in the forest, and elsewhere -- we encountered insects, of course; new oak leaves just emerging; some iconic Valley Oaks, many with their new spirng finery resplendant; and birds on and around the Valley Oaks. The latter have been grouped in a gallery of their own, nearby.

I have not supplied IDs or captions for these photos -- I wanted to share them as soon as possible, for time flies and spring does not wait. Please take this as a challenge, supply your own IDs, and leave a comment on a photo to help the rest of us. Thanks!
