GroupMuse: classical music in an informal atmosphere. This time: a wonderful concert by violinist Rochelle Nguyen and cellist James Jaffe. We started on the deck outside, watching the birds settle down for the night while the sun set and the light drained from the sky --with a little Bach. Then we moved inside the EcoCenter for more extensive forays into music for the two instruments, playing off against one another, Ravel, Kodály. Wow. The sky darkened, the clouds flamed spectacularly then shaded into darkness. The room was dark, we heard and felt the musicians, as darkness overtook the world outside. Canadian geese winged by on their way to their evening resting place. A nice informal setting, some discussion, wonderful music.
