Phainopepla Tree at Sunrise (2)
Here is another view, a little later, from a different angle, with a wide angle lens. The setting moon is caught in the branches of this old valley oak (Quercus lobata) on a ridgetop along Road F. Mistletoe forms the bulk of the growth now; the oak itself has almost stopped putting out leaves. The tree is in full sunlight; the line of sunrise creeps closer toward the photographer, standing in shadow. Windy Hill is behind the tree. 7:12:48 am.
