Some of us gathered at Jasper Ridge for a continuing education workshop on these critters. It was led by Karen DeMello and Jan Hintermeister, who are associated with MROSD, and set up by Gary Nielsen. A nice warm morning. We walked around Searsville lake and saw many of all three.
This is HOMEWORK for the class. There are no IDs (except perhaps for the shrew!) Please leave a comment with the ID -- before you check out the other comments. Everyone else, you are welcome too. This will also save me lots of time. In a few weeks, I may go back and add the common and Latin names for completeness.
Please ID the birds, plants, people -- everything, not just the butterflies, dragonflies, and damselflies. ID the plants the butterflies are on, and the damselfly next to the dragonfly. THANKS!
