One morning on Sweet Springs Trail. The tiny population of California Indian Pink (Silene californica) is still hanging on, even blossoming, despite the "best" (worst?) efforts of whomever keeps "clearing" the trail of these rare plants. This is the only stand of California Indian Pink on the entire lands of Portola Valley Ranch, as far as I am aware. Who keeps clearing the trail? Why won't they respect this rare plant?? How can I protect the Indian pink???
