Along the San Andreas Fault: View from Mapache Gate

Along the San Andreas Fault: View from Mapache Gate

From the top: Mt. Tamalpais. Crystal Springs reservoirs, marking the path of the San Andreas Fault. (The trace of the Fault can be seen through Woodside and Portola Valley, at the base of the foothills to the left.) All three parts of Searsville Lake: does the Fault pass through the upper lake? Almost all of JRBP stretches down, toward the right: a good view of the lonely valley oak near the intersection of Road F and Trail 15. From the center bottom, Trail 12 leads from Mapache Gate, winding up toward Lower Searsville Lake. Westridge at the bottom. SLAC and Highway 280 are on the right.
