Isla San Francisco is between the large Isla Espiríto Santo and mainland Baja California. We anchored in the north harbor, not the popular southern one. We were the only boat there. The pelicans put on a great show for us, evening and morning -- diving, eating fish, flying again, cruising around, diving -- sometimes in large groups. A blue-footed booby tagged along -- better fishing in a group? Where were the other boobies?? On the shore, I spent some time with some spotted sandpipers who were looking for small snails etc at the edge of the waves. Some of the ubiquitous yellow butterflies almost made it to shore, but may not have landed far enough from the gentle waves to be completely safe.
