Oaks

Oaks

Three varieties of Jasper Ridge oaks, in their native habitat. A bare valley oak (Quercus lobata) in the foreground left, with mistletoe, accompanied by toyon. Bare blue oaks (Quercus douglasii) in the distance on the left, giving way to green live oaks (Quercus agrifolia) on the right and at the top of the ridge. Serpentine rocks in the foreground. One of my favorite views from the birding route.
