This is the insect they were all after -- at least one of them. It appeared in the frame of one of my photos, by accident, far from the bird I also had in focus -- and the bird was not headed there either. Merav Vonshak tentatively identifies this as a termite. This fits with Cary's & Nona's observations of termites swarming elsewhere at Jasper Ridge.
