How to Find the Uncaged Sapling

Two stakes are put into the ground on each side of the control plant, at equal distances. They are basically buried, so as not to disturb any animal that may consider herbivory. To find the plant, one stretches a string between these markers. The center is where the plant was. (It may have been eaten!)
