Female Syrphid Fly (Taxomerus marginatus), showing its Spurious Vein & Halteres

Pierre Martineau writes: "I believe the bee-like fly is a Hover fly (family Syrphidae), likely Taxomerus marginatus. [This] photo reveals the 'spurious vein' ('vena spuria' - see <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Vena_spuria.svg>)
on the left wing in beautiful detail; this is a diagnostic character of the Hover fly family." A web site says this specific species is "Easily identified by the round spot near the end of the abdomen!" <http://nathistoc.bio.uci.edu/diptera/Toxomerus.htm>
